Induction day was fun! You wouldn't have misses much if you had missed it but it was good to hear from the big wigs there and talk to others on the course! For those of us who opted to queue for the whole of our break for the coffee we didn't get it was nice to meet ye! As for Maynooth itself, it looked like a nice enough town, could be a great night out....If you don't spend over an hour driving around random streets looking for the bed and breakfast that is! As for Valentines Day, spending it in Maynooth at the Induction Day was ok, nothing amazing but I enjoyed it, although not as much as I enjoyed Valentines Night after I left Maynooth....
Teaching Methology One in English appeared on Helms by Monday morning, thrown in at the deep end I started reading the lesson and doing the slides. I have to say the onsight class was much better! The tutor in question was AMAZING he was so clear and made everything really practical in such a way that I could almost see my future class and how I would manage in the class room! Lessons in Science SPHE have turned up this week for the next onsight class, I really must and should start them now...
I've been really lucky this week, I got a subbing job for a few days! I had a day with Junior Infants which I loved, they were a really great class although I still have no idea why the boys were pretending to be frogs! I was back there again today but as a language support teacher, totally different to being mainstream but I loved it! Learnt loads and I was really glad I had spent time as a TEFL teacher last summer! I'm back in the school again tomorrow as Language support teacher again. Really looking forward to it, at least this time I'll have a better idea of the routine and what each child does in class!
