The Exams

Well they are well and truly over. It's now monday a week since we started the exams. And I've taken the last few days to chill out and enjoy. But now its time to fill in the gaps of what Hibernia exams entail for Hibernia students.
Monday was Gaelige. I covered poetry, informal irish and reading non textbooks. I basically covered these 3 and crossed my fingers that they'd come up just as I wanted them. Thankfully they did. However there were a lot of people in my class who woulda liked the questions to come up differently so I would def suggest having a back up.
Tuesday was teaching foundations. So the ologies as I call them. I did Religion-the Sacraments and History of Ed as well as philosophy of Ed. Again I was lucky enough. Bar the history question it was all good. Again I'd say have back up options-I woulda loved one.
Wednesday was teaching methodologies. How to teach subjects and what not. This is a very broad paper so be ready with lots of subjects covered and all the practical sides ready ie assessment, planning etc. Don't skimp on it be ready and overly prepared. It's like tp. It's more practical then the others and a lot of it you know already but its still a hard paper and takes a lot of study.

As for the 3 days in Dublin? Well they were tough. It's an emotional rollercoaster. Bring chocolate and be ready to eat a lot, sleep little and be in dire need of diet coke all the time. Make time to have proper breakfasts, lunch and dinner. If at all possible eat with classmates-they are the only ones who will understand the stress you're under and the need to panic/rant/cry. They are essential to the few days. SHARE! Chocolate, notes, ideas everything you can to get ye through it all.

Wise words today? Breath in and out. Get a decent pen cause the hand will be worn off you during the exams....I'd suggest a bouncy one or one with a grip on it that kids use in school.
