#HowILearn

John Heffernan (@JohnMayo) and I have spent some time lately discussing learning styles and teaching styles. Anything from ipads in education to note taking and highlighting. John had the brainwave to start a discussion on focusing on How I Learn and inviting guest bloggers to join in. So yesterday I started by sending out the tweet with the #HowILearn and asking friends and family to join in. I was amazed by the positive responses.

So what are we going to do about it? Well I've asked for guest bloggers to join in and tell us about their learning experiences, learning styles and the resources they use to learn and teach. The topic has been left wide open to include every type of learning style and interest going! I want a wide wide range!

Maybe we can open the eyes of teachers, parents, students everywhere to the types of learning styles out there and help ourselves to grow as educators. Educators that take into account the various styles of learning that happen right under our noses. Maybe as teachers we can or need to change the way we teach. Maybe as parents we can or need to be more aware of the changing ways available to us as we educate ourselves and our children. Maybe as students we have found the best ways to suit our own needs but maybe we know others who haven't yet, who find learning very difficult, so maybe our experiences can help our fellow students.

If you want to get involved just send me your blog post with a short bio, any links to resources photos etc to anseoblog@gmail.com and I'll post it here. Meanwhile keep an eye on the hashtag #HowILearn on twitter for more information, ideas and the start of the discussion.

Wise words today? Get involved with #HowILearn and maybe we can change the world! (am I over reaching a bit??)
